This time of the year tends to make us work harder, play harder and eventually hit the wall-I ran out of steam two weeks ago and got sick. I felt better after a few days but phase II hit me and I am still on the mend.
I am excited to do more experimenting with different products-I will let you know how it goes! I don't know if this happens to everyone but when I see certain textures or colors or bits of random items I can see them in my art-I love finding a common item and making it special somehow. I have dozens of yarns, just one ball because I liked the texture or colors then I figure out how to use them in jewelry or art-------more on this later........I have decided that unlimited possibilities us much more fun than a bunch of rules to follow for art.
Have fun, enjoy and don't try to hard!

Okay here are more pics of the rocking chair

I am getting the hand of it all in the cyber world , I know I have two of the same photo.

another page of the journal, we had pretty soft colors of aqua, peach, brown, silver on a flocked tree, it seemed to all work! I know in the sea of red and green we stood out.

Christmas tree jubilee charity

Well the tree is done and sold!

we made a journal with pics of some working on the tree and notes of encouragement, it took many hours but was worth it! all the ornaments were handmade by sewing, soldering, gluing,!

antique books and doll on our painted, aged rocking chair with a gorgeous quilt made by Kelli, and her mom sewed the tree skirt..........hard to let go.........we hope it helps a disabled child receive help!!!Happy Holidays....

Tis the season

I have been working all summer on christmas items for a charity Christmas tree auction so I have been in the holiday mode for quite awhile. I am now in the Paisley Pomegranate in Park City and am working on more for their new store in Holiday. It is hard to part with original works, they are like part of who I am so I hope that whoever purchases them will treasure them like I do!
I have been inspired by many different people and styles and it has been so FUN trying out new techniques and making them my own. An amazing artist you should check out is Kelly rae Roberts. She has put mixed media on the notice and inspired many of us to try something new and that there are no boundaries! I love so many mediums that it was hard to just pick one so now I do not have too! I love textures, textiles, paints, papers, pastels, inks, can all work together-awesome!
Thank you so much for your interest and keep checking back!

facing fears

Fear of failure can be a crippling challenge, at least in my case. I have always wanted to be considered an artist but never feel worthy of the title. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do-I like too many crafts and thus am continally learning something new. I hope that all the different techniques I do learn will show me what I can do. I discovered Kelly Rae Roberts a great mixed media artist who has totally inspired me to try harder and go beyond my comfort zone. So I hope with faith and feeling happy with who I am and what I do I can find my niche!

Today I start my adventure with my creativity. Every year goes by and I tell myself this will be the year to go for it! This fun picture is for my daughter and took forever! I kept adding layers but I think it is just right now. Tell me what you think?
